Education Officer
Job Description
The Education Officer is responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and documentation of EFC’s education programs. This role focuses on teacher training, curriculum and learning material improvement, education outreach, scholarship support, and capacity-building initiatives. The Education Officer works closely with teachers, trainers, students, parents, internal departments, and external partners to ensure that education activities are well organized, delivered on time, properly monitored, and aligned with EFC’s education goals and values. The position also supports data collection, evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement of education programs to strengthen learning quality and program impact.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Program Planning and Implementation
- Plan and implement comprehensive teacher training and professional development programs.
- Developing work plans, schedules, and timelines to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
2. Curriculum and Content Development
- Review and improve core educational resources, curriculum frameworks, and learning materials.
- Translate, proofread, and review textbooks, instructional modules, and secondary learning resources.
- Collect and analyze feedback from educators and students to drive continuous curriculum improvement.
3. Monitoring and Evaluation
- Monitor field training activities and track participant attendance and engagement.
- Collect evaluation forms and qualitative feedback following training workshops and educational sessions.
- Prepare clear evaluation summaries and data-driven recommendations for future program enhancement.
4. Coordination and Communication
- Coordinate directly with teachers, trainers, facilitators, students, parents, and community stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments, cross-functional project teams, and external education partners.
- Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, specialized training sessions, and community education events.
5. Promotion and Outreach
- Prepare marketing and outreach strategies for various educational initiatives, language programs, and literacy resources.
- Recruit participants for ongoing training, mentorship courses, and youth development programs.
- Create promotional content, program announcements, and manage registration follow-ups.
6. Scholarships and Capacity Building
- Manage local and international scholarship records, vetting applications against selection criteria.
- Act as the primary liaison between scholarship recipients, parents, academic institutions, and funding partners.
- Monitor student academic progress and maintain all related documentation and compliance records.
7. Reporting and Administration
- Prepare activity plans, attendance records, reports, meeting notes, and program documentation.
- Maintain organized records of education programs, training materials, and participant data.
8. Other Duties Assigned by Management.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, English, management, or a related field.
- At least 1 or 2 years of experience in education, training coordination, youth programs, or NGO work is preferred.
- Good communication skills in Khmer and English.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Forms, and email.
- Teamwork and cultural adoption
- Ability to coordinate activities, prepare reports, and work with teachers, students, parents, and partners.
- Knowledge of Islamic education or community-based education programs is an advantage.
- Honest, responsible, organized, and willing to learn.
