Since 2010, Emaan Foundation Cambodia (EFC) has been working on this project. Thousands of disadvantaged households throughout Cambodia receive fresh Qurbani meat every year. This year, EFC has continued to implement this project with the goal of giving fresh Qurbani meat to the poor and needy villages on Eid al Adha days, as well as empowering the community’s socio-economic status by providing opportunities for work, extra income, and sustainability.
To support the local economy, the cows are purchased from local suppliers. Each meat package contains 1 kilogram of meat, enough to feed a family of widowed women, orphaned children, poor, elderly, or disabled villagers.
For the year 2022, four provinces have been selected for Ibadah Qurban. The provinces namely are Kok Kong, Tbong Khmom, Kampong Chhnang, and Kandal province. The Total amount of cows that EFC has allocated was 29. We have provided 5 cows to Kok Kong, 3 cows to Tbong Khmom, 15 cows to Kampong Chhnang province, and 6 cows to Kandal.
