Description
- EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
- Lack of affordable housing or sub-standard housing contributes to a variety of negative social outcomes. It may have an effect on childhood health problems such as asthma, anemia, viral infections, stunted growth and other health problems. These will lead to expensive hospitalization later on.
- Poorly-housed school going children will be more likely to have behavior problems and this will also compromise future success. The education system, which is supposed to equip them with the knowledge and skills, will not be able to break them from the poverty cycle. Without proper housing, the children will be roaming around without supervision in the area. This can create additional safety issues and crimes like child kidnapping.
- Emaan Foundation Cambodia has started the Low-cost Housing project since 2017 that has benefited more than 40 beneficiaries.
- An amount of $110,000 is required for the construction of 10 low-cost housing.
